Texas Exotic Hunts

The initial introduction of exotic big game animals into the State of Texas took place in the mid 1950's. With many areas of Texas having similar topography to Southern Africa and portions of India, the exotic plains game animals reproduced extremely well. Since that time the overall population of exotics has steadily grown thrusting Texas to the forefront of destinations for exotic big game Safaris within the U.S. border. Through the years many more species of exotic big game have been introduced into Texas. Some species now found in Texas actually out number those found in their native countries were they originated.

Hunting Methods

Our staff of Professional Hunters utilize 4WD vehicles (jeeps, trucks, atv's) and hunt safari style across our vast ranches until herds of game are spotted. After locating and determining whether or not an animal is mature and of trophy quality, a careful stalk can then be attempted into comfortable shooting range. Our guides will set up their "safari style" shooting sticks for our hunters to rest their rifles on and after that, it's up to our hunters to make the shot. Nothing like the thrill of the hunt!

Travel Tips

Traveling Sportsman who choose to fly commercial airlines should contact their airline of choice for the latest in airline company policy. Hunters should also view the TSA (Transportation Safety Administration) web site for current rules and regulations governing commercial airline travel. Since many species of exotic big game provide excellent table fare, Hunters should give some thought to taking some of their meat home. Also, because some exotic species have such large antlers and or horns that may require oversized shipping crates combined with overnight shipping fees, Hunters might consider having their trophies mounted in Texas by a reputable Taxidermist who mounts exotics on a regular basis.

Seasons & Pricing

There is no closed season on exotic safari hunting in Texas and hunt dates are available year-round. Trophy fees are based upon individual species and may vary slightly from ranch to ranch. "Trophy Fees" are due and payable upon harvesting or wounding of game. Sight- seeing trips, as well as other hunting or fishing opportunities may be available for an additional charge. Non-hunters are welcome when occupancy is available for $195.00 pp per day.
